Hi and welcome to The Old Button Supplies, where I sell stunning vintage, preloved and new fabrics and haberdashery.
I also have another shop on Folksy - The Old Button Sews - selling beautiful gifts designed and sewn by me, together with some lovely sew it yourself craft kits.
I originally bought this fabric to recreate tunics for a medieval re-enactment society. However, the shade is wrong for the era - medieval society had very strict sumptuary laws defining the colour and quality of clothing worn by differing ranks, and the group wanted to stay true to these.

Full description
Open weave linen fabric in bright red shade. Ideal for traditional counted stitches like blackwork, whitework, needlepoint and cross stitch, you can also use it for experimental forms of embroidery or textile art, and for slow stitching.
I think it would be particularly effective for Christmas or Valentine themed projects, as well as folk style.
12 inches square (30 by 30 cm approx). This is good for 8-10 inch hoops depending on the overhang you prefer.
I also sell other sizes - see the Wool and Linen Fabric section in my shop.
The holes are not quite as regular as AIDA, and it has a loose drape so may be easier to work it in a hoop or frame to maintain tension.
100% linen, medium weight, open weave, with a subtle slubbing. Although it has a slightly rustic look, the fabric is quite soft.
It is also fairly see through - see photo 5 where it is held against the light. Depending on your project, a backing fabric can be used to to make it more opaque or give additional stability.
Each piece is cut with a rotary blade for neat edges but you may want to hem or cut it with pinking shears it before stitching to prevent fraying.
Pre-washed.
PLEASE NOTE - the embroidery hoop pictured is not included, but can be purchased from my shop in some sizes.
