Add a splash of artisan colour to your craft stash with this bulk set of handmade fused glass cabochons created in my home studio in Blackpool. I begin each batch by making a blank of layered Bullseye glass and firing it in the kiln for almost 24 hours. Once cooled, the glass is cut into pieces, thoroughly cleaned, then fired again to smooth the edges and give a glossy finish.
Each cabochon is carefully drilled by hand with a hole measuring between 2 mm and 2.5 mm. I recommend using a large pinch bail if you would like to turn them into pendants. The shapes vary slightly as each one is individually made. The largest measures approximately 4 cm long and 3.5 cm wide, and the smallest measures approximately 3.8 cm long and 2 cm wide.
These cabochons are perfect for jewellery makers, mixed media artists or crafters looking to bulk out their stock for craft fairs. Use them for necklaces, earrings, mosaic work or collage. Twice fired for strength and shine, they are a tactile and colourful addition to your supplies.
