I've taken to looking out for old crown green bowls when I go to boot sales, the reason being the old ones are made of lignum vitae. It's a beautiful hardwood with a natural waxy quality and it polishes up beautifully. The only downside is that those bowls are an absolute swine to cut into. This rack has nine lignum vitae claws, offset from each other and spaced sufficient for one coat on each, on a waxed mahogany backboard.
