Full description
Introducing our exquisite handcrafted stained glass artwork, beautifully framed in rustic ash wood. This stunning piece features a lighthouse set against a vibrant landscape, with rich hues of blue. The natural live edge of the wooden frame adds a unique and charming touch, making it a perfect addition to any home decor.
Created using the copper foil technique, made famous by Tiffany lampshades. Each piece of glass is handcut, grinded, cleaned and wrapped in copper foil. The glass is then soldered using solder mix 60%tin 40%lead. A smooth rounded solder line is achieved to create strength and frames each piece of glass beautifully.
The wood comes from a local family sawmill who only use naturally felled trees. "I am so delighted that the wood we use has not meant any trees have been cut down deliberately," says Donnie (the creator of my wooden frames). After cutting and sanding, the frame has been treated with several coats of oil and wax (Osmo oil)
"I have created only a few of my lighthouse pattern so far, each one is unique with varied glass choices and the character of the wooden frame. Everyone loves a lighthouse as they often hold many special memories associated with family days out. " Debbie (artist)
