Full description
A needle felted model of a cute puffin has been made using woollen fibres. A barbed felting needle sculpts a core of white wool into shape, binding the wool fibres together and then a top coat of appropriately coloured woollen fibres is added to create the markings. The beak is made from hand coloured air dry clay and the wings and tail are cut from flat felt sheets covered in woollen fibres and needle felted into place. Black acrylic half pearls are used for the eyes and the feet and legs formed from wire. The puffin has been mounted using a transparent perspex rod on a small rustic wooden slice to aid stability.
This puffin ornament, including base measures approximately 17cm tall.
Whilst this puffin model is fairly robust, he will not withstand constant handling or rough treatment and is not suitable as a toy.
