When I started to advertise my prints for sale, a friend approached me with a request. Having moved from her home country of South Africa to Scotland, she asked if I could create a protea flower print for her. Through doing a bit of a research, I discovered that King Proteas are the national flower of South Africa and with many varieties thriving in this area of the Southern Hemisphere. I was struck by the vibrant and beautiful colours and set about creating a stylised version which will hopefully be enjoyed by others. I love exploring different colour combinations and, whilst blue isn't usually found on proteas in real life (to my knowledge), I just love the contrast between coral or rich reds and powder blues. Hope you love them!

Original handmade two block lino print of two protea flowers - the national flower of South Africa - in vibrant colours of dark coral red and powder blue.
Printed using oil based safe wash Cranfield inks and printed on Kent 190gsm, acid-free relief printing paper.
Artwork sold in soft white mount and unframed. This is an open edition print.
Print area: 5.5 x 7.5 inches (14 x 19cm)
Mount size: 8 x 10 inches (20.3 x 25.4cm)
Please note - this is an original print signed by the artist, not a digital print. Small variations between individual prints are part of the printing process and add to the uniqueness of original lino cut prints.
