Full description
This ink made from refined Bideford Black pigment is classed as Carbon black. The pigment comes from fossilised ferns, laid down 300 million years ago creating a coal seam.
The ink needs a binder like Gum Arabic or honey, I also make iron oxide and copper oxide to help the finished ink bite into the surface. A whole clove is added to the bottle to help preservation.
