This is the first pigment I discovered in North Devon. The Bideford mine closed in 1969 but the end seam is visible at Greencliffs, Reeves of London would buy the pigment for artists supplies and Max Factor for mascara and kohl in their makeup range

Full description

This unique site specific pigment is collected from the end seam from Bideford mine. Taken back to my studio to process and refine, by grinding, washing and sieving, these processes repeated several times till I am left with a fine powder that is an artists pigment or made into a rich carbon ink.

Designed by Gail Spencer-Mollington in Exmoor Devon
