Fusing is one of my favourite silversmith techniques, and requires careful use of heat to create the natural shape and reticulated surface of the pebble. I was pleased with the almost symmetrical shape of this silver pebble - it's always complete chance how the shape turns out.
I then used a ball burr tool to create the flush setting to the exact size of the sapphire.
I use eco recycled silver, and I sourced my sapphire from a responsible UK supplier.
Please also see the ruby set pebble ring. The pebble in the sapphire ring is slightly smaller and more delicate.

Gorgeous fused pebble Sterling Silver ring, flush set with a genuine 3mm sapphire.
I created this pebble ring with eco recycled sterling silver, by fusing smaller pieces of silver together. This fusion technique requires careful temperature control to create a reticulated pebble-like surface. Each piece created in this way is different and unique. I then created a flush setting for this 3mm sapphire stone. The ring is adjustable from size N - P.
