I spent the day photographing around Kings Cross but wasn’t particularly inspired by the area. On my way home, I discovered this newly built subway and was immediately drawn to its colours and architecture. Using my wide-angle lens, I framed the sweeping curves and waited until a single person walked away to capture a solitary figure for added interest. Later, I added a dot pattern gradient texture to create a pop-art inspired abstract image. What began as a quiet day turned into a creative opportunity to produce something vibrant and unique.

Full description
A burst of vibrant colour and bold geometry, “Pop Art Subway – Kings Cross Vision” captures a lesser-seen side of London in full creative flow. Shot in a modern subway tunnel near Kings Cross Station, this fine art print transforms an everyday space into something cinematic — glowing in deep purples, fiery oranges, and radiant pinks. A lone figure walks into the frame, adding a sense of narrative and mystery, while a dotted halftone texture overlays the scene, giving it a striking Pop Art feel.
This image was taken at the end of a day spent wandering the area, uninspired until stumbling upon this tunnel. The lighting and curves demanded attention — the space felt like something out of a graphic novel, futuristic and dreamlike. The added texture was chosen to amplify that effect, turning the real into something imaginative and bold.
