The seed pods dry well and are popular with flower arrangers. They have many other names depending on where you are in the world- Chinese coins, Pope's money, silver dollars. Flowering in late spring to summer, the plants delicate white or lilac flowers are attractive to pollinators.

Full description
Original art in classic Prussian Blue and White, this Cyanotype Photogram is of Lunaria (Honesty) seed pods. Its Latin name, Lunaria, is derived from Luna, meaning the moon, possibly referring to the oval seed capsules which have a silvery sheen. Its common plant name 'Honesty' may come from the fact you can see the seeds through the translucent seed capsules, -no hiding place there.
For further information on the Cyanotype and Wet Cyanotype techniques, see ‘About’ in my Shop.
