Full description
The Bamburgh Necklace - this necklace was inspired by a day spent on the beach at Bamburgh (Northumberland), finding all sorts of natural treasures including jellyfish washed up in the surf. It was the brightest blue-sky day and the light shone through them making them look like somewhat unsettling jelly jewels! This is a longer length pink necklace with freshwater pearls and Czech glass beads in a playfully literal beach theme - very mermaid/sirencore! A little fish swims up the side of this necklace amongst bright lustrous pearls, shells, and those jellyfish. The clasp is sterling silver and each pearl and bead is individually hand knotted onto the strand using Griffin Nylon Silk. The necklace measures 64cm including the clasp.
About the pearls: These pearls are Chinese freshwater pearls. The particular ones chosen for this necklace stood out because of their really lovely lustre and pink tone. They were likely farmed between 1990 and 2010. Please see below for more information about Pearl & Glass jewellery.
