Loss of habitat has and is causing a decline in our bat population, bat boxes help give the bats somewhere to roost and rear their young so with us making bat boxes and our customers erecting the bat boxes we can all help give the bats a new home.
Remember, bats are protected and once a box has been installed it should not be opened or interfered with, if possible observe from a distance to watch the comings and goings.
This is a custom-made item and cannot be returned unless faulty.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
Full description
Bat Box designed with 2 different sized chambers, 1 chamber has a depth of 15mm and the second chamber has a depth of 20mm, this allows access to the majority of bat species in the U.K.
The bat box is made from 18mm thick redwood which is glued and screwed together creating a draught free and warm interior where the bats can roost and perhaps rear their young.
Position your bat box as high as possible (4 mtrs is ideal) on the wall of a house, a building or tree, sheltered from high winds and facing South or South West where it will be exposed to the sun for part of the day.
The bat box measures: 410mm high x 280mm wide x 144mm deep.
Fixing the bat box is done using the stainless steel bracket which is already attached and then using the 2 x wall plugs and 2 x stainless steel screws supplied.
