Deadstock fabric is surplus from the textile manufacturing industry. It can be due to overproduction, quality issues, or small flaws, or just the end of a roll or bolt, and is sold to smaller fabric outlets as part of a zero waste or sustainability approach.
I bought a lot of deadstock fabric when I was teaching my daughter to sew during the Covid lockdown. I wanted her to try out different fabric types and styles, and this was a cost effective way for her to learn. Of course, we didn't end up using all of them and she is now back in Manchester doing her PhD and buying her own fabric! So, I need to destash......

Full description
A viscose challis print fabric - ideal for summer dresses, skirts or blouses - with posies of beautiful pink and white flowers scattered across a soft black background. This lovely light-medium weight dressmaking fabric is very soft and has a beautiful drape.
Sold in 2m lengths for flexibility, I have 4m in total. If you want the full 4m, add 2 to the basket and I will send as an uncut piece.
Bought as deadstock fabric from the textile industry (see inspiration box above), I believe this was a print used to make garments for a UK high street fashion company. This is unused and has been stored in a cupboard away from dust and sunlight.
Viscose can be slippery to use so take extra care and lots of fine pins when cutting out and sewing. To avoid snagging, use a new sharp needle in your machine - a Sharps 70/10 is ideal. It also shrinks, so wash before cutting.

Composition: Viscose
Care - wash at 30 degrees delicate, and line/air dry. Tumble drying not recommended. Can be ironed at low heat if needed.
