Large Artisan Handcrafted Hand Painted White Horse / Unicorn Magical Keepsake, Jewellery, Memories Wooden Box
This gorgeous box is a beautiful piece with decoupage, painting, moulding and sculpting techniques.
I took a plain wooden box and decoupaged the top with a stunning image of a white horse, it speaks to me of Unicorns although he/she does not have a horn.
I painted the box with a rich damson chalk paint and varnished the outside of the box with several coats of professional decorators varnish.
I then used air dry clay to handcraft the moulding around the edges of the lid, this is painted black and highlighted with gold wax paste.
The sides of the box are embellished with butterflies, all four sides are slightly different, this is done using an impasto technique with artist modelling paste, which dries rock hard once complete and then gold wax has been applied to the butterflies.
I finished this box by adding four very sweet antique effect metal feet.
The box has a vintage feel to it.
Size: 26cm x 20cm x 10cm
It is perfect for keeping precious memories, keepsake and jewellery. It is an ideal craft and art supplies storage box, perhaps your favourite crafty bits could be stored in this box.
It conjures up magical places and magical creatures and I loved creating it.
