Hello! Welcome to our new shop. We will be opening soon sharing our inspired, hand turned wooden items.
Having purchased this piece of burr in November, I couldn't wait to turn it and decided to stream the making of it to my international audience. Having shocked them with the threat of adding some colour to it, they were relived when the colour added was natural, subtle and done to enhance its natural colour.

Full description
Burr oak is a complex wood to look at. The grain patterns and natural fissures twist and turn in beautiful, chaotic swirls and this in turn makes pieces like this desirable.
Measuring approximately 10x4", the bowl was delicately coloured to enhance the natural appearance of the piece and to make it different from other burr oak pieces. It has been finished with a food-contact safe oil making it suitable for use as a fruit bowl. Not salad though as the nature of the burr will allow dressings and water to leak through it!
The making of this stunning oak burr bowl was streamed live on YouTube to an international audience on 10th December 2024. Copy and paste this link to watch: https://youtube.com/live/c-1LzL0UDCQ
The bowl will come complete with a 50ml bottle of oil to enable you to recoat the piece every 6 to 12 months in normal use.
