Title: "Kurukulla, Flower Bow, Goddess of Passion"

The deities of Nepal are a creative mix of cultural sources, particularly Tibetan Bon, Himalayan Buddhist and Indian Hindu. Dakinis or yoginis, female enlightened energies that can be human, elemental or extraterrestrial, are an interesting balance within male-dominated caste societies. Dakinis can be seen as wild, creative forces that have the potential to free the spiritual seeker from false restrictions.

Kurukulla is one of the most popular dakinis. She sort of embodies the qualities of the Classical Venus with Eros. Red- bodied, dancing, dressed only in swags of colourful flowers, holding a bow and arrow, also made of flowers, she exuberantly and recklessly fills people with love and passion, the desire to enjoy, to become fulfilled.

My print seeks to evoke these qualities in symbolic, rather than figurative form.

Size: print size approx. 15.5 x 11.5 inches, on A3 size, Hahnemuhle archive 308gm. photo rag paper with colour fast, highest quality inks.

All prints have cellophane protective sleeve and are sent in postal tube by Special Delivery International Signed for, to ensure safe and fast delivery.
