Who doesn't love a project bag? I love matching my project bad to my project or the season, my mood... listen, I can find a lot of reasons to buy a project bag. I also really like fabrics and sometimes I'm drawn to something that I wouldn't necessarily wear as a garment but I still really love it, so I make it into a project bag.
There is a craft charity shop near me and they sell donated fabric, ends of rolls and ex-shop stock. Its a real treasure trove, sometimes you might find only half a metre of something, other times they might have nearly a full roll. I like to buy the little odds and ends that are perfect to mix up and coordinate to make project bags.

Full description
The outer fabrics are all cotton, the lining is a satin polyester with three roomy internal pockets. The main fabric is bright and bold print of large pinky purple roses on a rich purple background. This fabric is vintage, sourced from a local charity craft shop, I like to reuse, reclaim and recycle as much as possible.
I've chosen a mid green contrast colour for the base, leaves drawstring case and handle to echo the rose leaves and a fun bright purple drawstring to compliment the background. I'm pretty sure we had wallpaper like this when I was a kid.
The lining is an interesting dark purple polyester. There are three nice roomy pockets for your bits and bobs and the bags themselves are a generous size. The lining fabric comes from the remnants section of a local curtain shop, so that's a bit more fabric saved from landfill.
The large comfortably holds 6 skeins of 4plyfingering weight yarn, the medium holds 4 and the small holds 2. I would say the large is good for sweater projects or shlankets, the medium for cropped sweaters or average size shawls and the small suits socks or hats.
All three bags squish down nicely when empty but the box bottom means they sit up straight and behave themselves when in use.
The dimensions given here are approximate, they're handmade so may vary a little from bag to bag but not by enough to worry about.
Small - sock or single skein projects - 10" x 6.5" x 3.5"
