I'm a fan of the brooch, so I thought I'd make some. I'm also a fan of the crow so what to put on them wasn't exactly a difficult decision. They just seem to work so well, the solid crow shape, the black and white contrasting so nicely. Lovely.

Full description
This porcelain, handmade, one of a kind crow brooch is not a quiet, little brooch, distinctive, strong , this crow is its own bird, thank you. I'm trying to capture the movement in these fabulous birds but also using the carving technique as a background to swirl around and add to the drama.
Made by shaping a disk of porcelain, preparing the surface, painting with lovely black slip, then when the conditions are right carving into the slip and there it is. Finished off with a lovely glossy transparent glaze which makes it darker and more mysterious
No two alike this one is 6.5 cm wide and 4.5 cm high, with a safety clasp on the back.
