Pearl - Imitation Shell
Shell pearls are imitation pearls first conceptualised by the Venetians in the 13th century by using substitute materials such as alabaster. Today, modern shell pearls are high quality replicas of pearls and are made from Mother of Pearl ground down, shaped, dyed and surrounded by a protective lustrous coating. They are hard wearing, durable, resistant to oil, stains, sweat, and are an ecologically sound choice.

This sophisticated Dusky Blue Shell Pearl and Clear Crysal Bicone cut beaded necklace and earrings set is a classic staple for any jewellery collection. The necklace is strung with 28 round Dusky Blue 10mm beads alternately with 27 Clear Bicone Cut Crystal 6mm beads. Contrast of the soft lustrous Dusky Blue Shell Pearl finish, alongside the reflective shiny Bicone cut of the Clear Crystal is chic and refined. The necklace is easy to take on and off with the Silver-Plated toggle heart clasp and bar but is safely secure when the bar is inserted into the heart.
The matching earrings are each made using Silver-Plated ear wires featuring one upper 6mm Clear Bicone Crystal Bead, followed by a Silver-Plated spacer bead, followed by one lower 10mm Dusky Blue round Shell Pearl bead. The drop of the earrings from the base wire loop is 2.5cm which move nicely and complete the look of understated style. To make this Jewellery even more perfect, it is a sound eco-friendly alternative to real pearls.
