This hoop is hand embroidered using traditional goldwork metal threads. Goldwork is a traditional form of embroidery that uses different types of tiny thin wires to create different effects. Traditionally the wires were gold, but modern goldwork wires come in all the colours of the rainbow which is a lot of fun!
The sunflower has petals of gold kid leather, which are sewn individually on to the linen base. The centre is made up of tiny sections of goldwork wires in lovely burnished gold shades.
It is framed in a four inch hoop, and finished with felt at the back.
Please note - due to the nature of goldwork, some of the wires may have slightly sharp edges, so please take care when handling.
Will arrive wrapped in tissue, ready to give as a gift, and will be accompanied by an Athena Makes care card
