Full description
One of a kind textile art featuring a regal kingfisher, sewn entirely by hand using woollen threads in deep turquoise blue and rusty red, with a vivid flash of white around it’s neck. The bird is perched on a branch made from a scrap of batik fabric.
The sumptuous background is a collage of rich, harmonious hues - turquoise, purple, browns and golds - creating a vibrant and textured setting. In one corner, I have stamped a fish design onto linen and embroidered fronds of pond grass and little seed beads evoking the delicate air bubbles of this underwater scene.
This artwork is mounted onto board and has a 10” x 8” ivory mount - ready to be framed to your choosing - please be aware this artwork comes to you unframed.
In my last photograph I have shown what it would look like in a deep shadow box frame.
