Stained glass light catchers inspired by wildlife
I make these to order-

Each piece I make is unique so will be slightly different than the picture but quality and basic content remain the same.

These is one of a kind, signed by me, Rachael Marshall and as with all my work, made with love and an intent to bring healing and hope. It is perfect for indoor windows and also for the garden. Many of my customers hang my work from trees and they catch the light beautifully casting coloured shapes across walls and fencing.
I made the item using coloured glass which I cut and paint with a black enamel and then scratch a design into it. The glass is then fired in a kiln at 650 degrees celcius which make the artwork permanent and weatherproof. The glass is then copperfoiled and soldered. I like to use my own knobbly technique with the solder to give a rustic, aged look. A black patina is applied and scrubbed to make the lead/solder an antique gunmetal colour. This gives each piece its unique textural character. Copper wire is twisted and added to hang things from.The glass is cleaned and then a natural jute string is added and decorated with a glass bead. Even the beads are unique..no two the same.
