Full description
Fused glass pendants with botanical themes were made by fusing clear glass on opaline to make the base of the pendant. Hand-cut templates were used to form the part of each flower by sifting glass powders onto a kiln shelve through the templates and firing. This gave fragile, delicate wafers of glass. Next, the different sections of the flowers were again fired together to make a complete flower. These were tack-fused with a sprinkling of iridescent frit to give each piece a 3D look onto the base of the pendant. The finished pendant is 3cm x 5cm x 6mm and has a silver-plated bail and chain, which is 18 inches long. Due to the nature of fused glass, each piece is unique.
