These little mushroom shaped nodules consist of naturally occurring iron pyrite. The pyrite formed in these unusual shapes - these are not fossils. Iron pyrite is also known as fool's gold, as when polished or freshly broken it has a gold colour. These cute mushrooms would make a charming addition to a table decoration, or could be used as model fungi.
This group of nodules are between 6 mm and 9 mm across, and 7 mm to 1 cm high.
They will be sent by first class post. We usually post items within one working day of receiving payment.
