Full description

This is a printing from my unique original sketch of historical image in high quality pencil.

This sketch captures the Mercat Cross in Aberdeen, located in Castlegate, was built in 1686.It served as a symbol of the city's trading rights, granted by royal charters. The cross stand on a large hexagonal base with semi- circular arches, and is topped by a Corinthian column with a unicorn statue, which is Scotland's national animal. The base is adorned with intricate carvings, including portraits of Scottish monarchs.According to local legend, the ghost of a unicorn can be seen to circle the Castlegate when a full moon is visible.

And you can see the backside of the Duke of Gordon statue, it was originally placed near the Mercat Cross in 1844 but was later moved to Golden Square in the 1950s.

This printing is presented on a heavy weight drawing paper and adheres to a formboard with colorless fixative spray with anti UV protection. Image size 18cm square with a backing board and protected in a clear cellophane bag.
