Item details

I love these natural pearls that are all different shapes and have a beautiful Luster. I find that the traditional knotting of pearls on silk adds an elegance to the necklace. I have teamed them up with gorgeous German clasp.

Full description

A Genuine Keshi Pearl 2 string 18 inch Necklace. These Luxurious and Highly Lustrous Keshi Pearls, are traditionally strung and knotted on silk thread. It has a silver push clasp with central pearl surrounded by Swarovski crystals made by Claspgarten.

The clasp can be worn at the back or front which adds a luxury and elegance to this necklace.

“Keshi” is a Japanese term which means poppy seeds. A Keshi pearl is a non-beaded pearl which is formed by accident when the oyster rejects and spits out the implanted nucleus before the culturing process is complete. They are generally small and their shapes vary widely. Due to their solid nacre composition, they tend to have a high luster.

This necklace has been traditionally hand knotted on silk thread between each pearl. Pearls are delicate and the knot stops them rubbing together. If the string breaks you only loose 1 pearl and knotting makes the necklace flexible and it moves well.
