Brightly coloured felted art seascape inspired by the sandy fishing port of Porthdinllaen, Llynn Peninsular. Porthdinllaen was my happy place for many years as my family and I loved to relax on holiday here and sail around this amazing bay. This beautiful scene depicts a sailing dinghy approaching the sandy bay. It is inspired by a photo from an aerial view of the bay with green cliffs wrapped around the bay and beyond along the golf course which sits above to the right side of the curve of the bay. The beach is accessible by walking along the path which runs through the golf course then drops down to the beach below.
The intense rays of the sun are setting with magnificent warm shades of pink and purple complimenting the natural colours of the meadow flowers and grasses in the foreground. The magnificent sun is reflected on the surface of the waves in the sea giving this special place a magical aura.
In order for you to enjoy the feel and the texture of the hand dyed sheeps’ wool; the twisted yarns; the beads and silver wire I have chosen to hang this felt art with rope from driftwood maintaining the characteristic quality of the seascape. I hope this brings you a perfect multi sensory experience evocative of being present at Porthdinllaen.
