Jewelled Trinket Box American Folk Art Style with a Vintage finish
It is hard to describe this box as it is my own unique style, it is painted black (on wood) inside is painted a deep aubergine colour with gold edges.
The lid has an image of a beautiful woman with a floral head dress and I have added a border of deep green with red flowers and moons.
The sides of the box are decorated with muted suns crescent moons and full moon.
The lid is crackle glazed with craquelure which gives very fine cracks and creates a gorgeous vintage look, like old porcelain. This gives the box character and charm and evokes antique oil paintings
The box is covered with black velvet underneath where the little feet are.
I have added tiny jewels around the edge of the lid which are lovely irridescent colours or red, blues and green.
Finally I have varnished the box and added four little feet which are gold metal beads.
They are screwed into place so are very secure and the box has an antique bronze catch.
The size is 3" x 2" x 2"
This is a beautiful small box for trinkets and jewellery or small keepsakes and would make a fantastic gift perhaps with a piece of jewellery inside?
