I collect vintage glass buttons to use as precious gems. The first lot I found were emerald green from the 1930s and were on their original card, and they stayed in a sewing box for about five years before I decided to use them.
I was really pleased about finding the venetian button and wanted to make a one-off special item. Well sometimes I just don't know when to stop decorating something and before you know it I can't decide which side is the front and which is the back. The answer is ...neither. I made a swivel that turns around the pendant.

Full description
This chunky necklace is double sided, but you don't have to decide which side you wear to the front as it has a little handmade swivel which leaves it to luck. On one side there is big antique Venetian glass button depicting flowers, and on the other side is a miniature vintage glass button in the shape of a cockle shell. The chain is really chunky at the front and tapers a little at the back. The pendant part is 20 x 25mm and hangs 30mm below the chain. The chain is 45 cm long. It has a hand made s-shaped clasp.
