This necklace has a sterling silver lotus pendant with the Om (Aum, Ohm) symbol at its centre, polished amethyst nuggets, red carnelian rounds and sterling silver.
The pendant has a beautiful filigree design for the lotus petals and the silver is beautifully set off by the deep purple amethyst nuggets and the berry red carnelian beads with pairs of sterling silver beads. The pendant hangs from a series of tiny faceted Hill Tribe silver beads (Hill Tribe silver is 'fine silver' and is 97% pure compared to sterling silver which is 92.5% pure).
Om (Aum) is commonly believed to be the sound that was made during the creation of the universe. It also represents the union of the body, spirit and mind in Yoga. When taken letter by letter, A-U-M represents the supreme divine being (Shakti) united in its three elementary aspects: Bhrahma Shakti (creation), Vishnu Shakti (preservation) and Shiva Shakti (liberation and/or destruction).
Measuring approximately 18.5"/47 cm it fastens with a Hill Tribe fine silver hook clasp. The pendant is 26 mm across with the 925 silver bail adding a further 10 mm making a 36 mm total drop.
