I like to use texture and shadow to create a subtle effect with these pieces. I like the way the absence of colour draws attention to the light and shade.
The piece is made from thin ribbons of air drying clay, formed into what appears to be random shapes, but are carefully designed to form an oval.

This framed piece was created using air dried clay, hand rolled and cut into thin ribbons, which were then shaped to form the oval design.
Each of these pieces is unique.
The white wooden frame has a perspex front, and measures 15.5cm by 20.5cm and is 3.5cm deep . It is suitable for wall hanging, or can be displayed freestanding.
