This picture was a personal challenge. When I started it I knew that the amount of time and effort it would take would be financially non-viable. I set myself these challenges a few times a year. They are purely self-centred, as I am creating what I want, rather than a commercial item. The time spent on this picture at an hourly rate would take it to £840.00 and that's without the glass used. I loved every minute of its making. It was challenging, frustrating, and time consuming. Well worth the effort to see it come out of the kiln in one piece and looking good!!!
I have to add that I am not keen to send abroad as the PO keep on breaking stuff.

This picture is absolutely visually stunning!!
This picture took me three weeks to complete. I worked for approximately 40 hours planning, drawing out, cutting and placing hundreds of tiny little sections of silver dichroic glass. Each piece of cut glass was placed onto its backing of wispy blue System 96 fusing glass. The Herring eyes are little sections of blue dichroic glass. You could say that this picture was a 'labour of love'. Two evenings were spent checking that each tiny piece of glass was where it should be.
Once I was completely satisfied that every bit of glass was in the right place 'Silver Darlings' was fired in my kiln. At 750oC the dichroic glass fused with the system 96 backing.
Frame measures: 44cm x 44cm x 2.5cm.
Picture measures: 30cm x 30cm x 6mm.
The back of the frame has fitment's for hanging.
The picture is signed on the front and back.
