Full description
Needlecases are one of my most favourite things to make The cover is made from a piece of vintage linen that I've decorated with a vintage embroidered cotton mat that I added crochet and guipure lace flowers and leaves. I've lined the cover with vintage cotton and edged it in blanket stitch. The case is kept closed with a button and a handmade loop.
Inside there are 6 leaves made from checked fabric, wool felt and a vintage cotton and lace doily, with the felt and check fabric edged in blanket stitch. On the inside of the front and back covers there's a broderir anglais lace pocket with sample cards of fabric and lace. There is a further pocket that contains fabric samples. All of the samples, and the 2 attached buttons, can be used by snipping the threads that hold them to their respective cards or pages. They're ideal for slow-stitched projects.
I have also added a few pins and needles to the other leaves so you just need some thread to get started on your stitching project.
When closed, this needlecase measures 10cm (4.5in) wide and 14cm (5.5in) tall. It is bound together using 3-hole pamphlet stitch, with beads added to the thread's ends.
