Having grown up in Cornwall I wanted to make something that reminded me of my days as a young man and as someone who loves seafood, especially salmon and mackerel, I designed this placemat to depict fish and to be a part of my range of Cornwall themed clocks and platters

This delightful slate placemat or platter is a celebration of fish.
Having grown up in Cornwall but now, sadly, living away from my homeland, I have designed a range of clocks and placemats with Cornwall in mind and this one takes me back to being a young man in Mevagissey and fishing for mackerel from a friend's small boat and then selling them on the quayside.
Mind you, the fishmonger wasn't too happy and he used to chase us off with a few choice words!
The placemat is heat resistant and dishwasher proof and can be used as a centre piece for your table, as individual placemats or as a serving utensil.
Whichever role you should choose (you may buy several and use them for all of the above!) this simple but beautifully designed piece is a dedication to the most wonderful place on earth - Cornwall or Kernow as it is known by the Cornish people.
