Full description

In 2005, I was approached by Traquair House to create a collection of tapestry kneelers. My brief was to look around the House and choose images and embroidery to inspire new designs.

The Running Stag design was inspired by the Crewel Work Hanging depicting a hunt at Traquair House. This design is one of a set of two, the other is Purple Running Stag.

The complete Traquair House Chapel Needlework Collection is on view in the chapel and was embroidered by community stitchers to celebrate the 900th anniversary of Traquair House.

The design is sewn dramatically in rich colours on a green striped background and would be enjoyed by the novice and experienced stitcher. Sewn using Victorian cross stitch, no need for a frame.
