I started raising money for Toybox on 25th August 2023, and to date £219.56 has been raised by my lovely Folksy customers, £180.06 of which was transferred to Toybox between 20/11/23 and 5/04/23.

This pretty little freshwater pearl necklace would be a beautiful gift for a young person, but would also look fresh and dainty on someone more mature. The pearls are fairly small: 5-5.5 mm diameter. They have a slightly asymmetrical shape, and are often referred to as potato pearls. They have been dyed pretty pastel shades of green, peach, lavender, and cream.
The pearls have generally smooth surfaces with a few minor imperfections and a fairly good lustre. Instead of the traditional silk, I have strung them on high performance nylon, which is meant to be a little stronger and less inclined to stretch. I have knotted between each pearl, a classic technique that ensures a good drape and also security in the unlikely event that the thread does break.
I have finished the necklace with sterling silver findings: a tiny bead, French wire (gimp) and a trigger clasp.
The necklace is 48.8cms (about 19 ins) long. It will be sent Special Delivery, wrapped in acid-free tissue paper and posted in a sturdy cardboard box for safe travel.
WHEN YOU BUY THIS ITEM £4 WILL BE DONATED TO TOYBOX, A CHARITY HELPING STREET CHILDREN ACROSS THE GLOBE. This amount is calculated by subtracting materials and admin costs from the price of the item. I do not charge for my time in making it.
