Full description
This is a blue dragonfly lakeside/ meadow embroidered textile art picture.
All framed works are individual and unique, made in a textile art mixed media style. This particular piece is mounted in a natural wood shadow box frame and is approximately 6 inch x 6 inch and 20mm in depth . Each piece of textiles has a raw hemmed edging which is also visible at the back of the frame (displayed in image above) this allows the piece itself to be removable. The work is stitched in various sparkly threads adding a shine and glisten to the work itself, combined with hand stitched woollen embroidery and beaded embellishments. The shimmery organza used on the dragon fly wings gives this idea of realism and a translucent illusion, this has been used against the blue base fabric which has been naturally dyed with dried flowers. My work has been inspired by the beauty of nature capturing the dragonfly's in there delicate form flying over the iridescent lake and textural foliage of the bulrushes and plants, seen through the raw natural looking fraying of the fabrics which I embrace as I want to create a sense of a natural nature aspect within the piece.
Note: the frame and backing is made of raw natural wood there may be some slight blemishes and marks.
