The scenery is in south-west Scotland, part of a large and rather isolated castle and grounds. Two lovely lochs stretch right through the estate; this is part of one of them. I chose the subject for a very small-scale work, as a challenge to depict a large scene in a small space.

Full description
An original oil painting as an ACEO (art card editions and originals), on Arches oil-paper, measuring 2.5 x 3.5 inches.
My subject here is a tranquil lake, inspired by a visit to a Scottish loch in south-west Scotland; a patchwork of hills in the distance reflecting into rippled waters.
The painting comes with an ivory-coloured mountboard; with aperture for the card, and to fit a 6x8 inch frame. The little painting itself is protected with a sleeve of glassine paper.
It is suggested that, since the painting is on paper, it should be framed under glass (just like any other work on paper).
My very small paintings are "small-format"; miniature in size but not in brush-strokes.
