Slugs!
The hanging basket idea popped into my head as a way to raise plants off the ground to minimise the damage from pesky slugs and snails :-)
I enjoy working with willow in many ways. It is totally sustainable and allows me to create beautiful and useful items with minimal [if any] impact on the environment.
I have been growing willow since 2006 and am conyinuing to find new ways to use it.

A beautiful handmade willow hanging basket with a contemporary spiral design.
Made using traditional basketry skills with British grown willow, some of which I grow here myself.
This basket will hold plants indoors or outdoors. It would also be ideal to hold lots of other items such as garlic in the kitchen, fruit, sweet treats etc.
It would be a great addition to the garden and home for those who enjoy a more natural aesthetic.
Willow is the traditional material for 9th anniversary gifts too.
The twine used as the hanger is spun locally here in the North West of England.
Please note that the basket is not lined.
All packaging used is either recycled or compostable.
