Full description

- ABOUT THE MOSAIC -

We Brits love tea & a good party, so I made this patriotic red, white & blue teacup with that in mind...

This gorgeous mosaic was created by me from a variety of glass & ceramic tiles & recycled pottery which I hand cut to shape using traditional mosaic tools. I have used a black grout, painted the back black & attached a length of black craft wire from which to hang it. The overall finished piece measures approximately 11.5cm x 15cm. This teacup would look great on a kitchen / cafe wall

- ABOUT MY STYLE -

My style of mosaic making is known as pique assiette, which various sources say means “stolen plate” or “broken plate”. I have always been an avid recycler & predominantly use recycled teacups, saucers, plates & other found objects in my art. My style means my creations are not only totally unique, but are also inline with the 3 Rs of recycling - reducing waste, reusing and recycling
