I feel so privileged to have a hedgehog family living in my garden. The baby hedgehogs have grown and are now left home and venturing in the world.
Fingers crossed a cat doesn't get them.
They inspired me to make a hedgehog out of felt.

This super cute summer hedgehog pincushions made from 1mm wool felt.
After creating the pattern, I used my skills on the sewing machine and hand embroidery skills to create Hegge.
I imagined her awakening from her long winter sleep and as she walked through the grass the wildflowers attached to her sides. To get this effect I have hand-embroidered flowers on each side using DMC embroidery thread in orange, white, pale blue and mossy green.
She is made from 1mm wool felt (colour Gingerbread) from the Wool Felt Company and filled with polyester toy filling. She is 70mm High x 100mm Long x 55mm Wide.
This pincushion comes with 50 glass-headed dressmaking pins in assorted colours.
All snug and warm in her little box Hegge would make the perfect small gift for a crafter, a new sewer or someone who just loves hedgehogs.
