The 6th of June 2024 marks the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings on the beaches of Normandy. A visit to those beaches inspired me to create some Glass Art and to raise some money to support those who have served us, not only then, but in all conflicts.

This is one of our pieces made to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy.
It features the silhouette of a soldier looking across a field of poppies - Remembering.
The piece is approximately 12.5 cm tall, 21 cm wide and the wave is around 2.5cm deep. It has been created using glass powders and granules, which have been fused together in the kiln. A second session in the kiln gives the piece its wave shape, which allows it to stand upright on a flat surface.
I will donate £5 from the sale of this piece to the Royal British Legion.
Please note that any other ornaments in the images are not included in the sale.
