This is a painting of two lemons and a tangerine on a plate with a bird and leaf motif. I found the plate on the street as someone was giving it away on their garden wall. It inspired me to want to include it in a painting. I am also inspired by Matisse's use of background decoration and patterns merging with the foreground subject of the painting. I hope you will enjoy this painting as much as I did when making it.
