My surrounding throw up very different moments of inspiration. The area around me was famous for its iron ore works, now all that’s left is tumbledown buildings and associated cottages, it is in a very picturesque setting, with small streams dotted about. At certain times of the year the water becomes an orangey red colour, due to the iron content, giving it and very warm glow, especially with the beautiful sunsets, so this piece is a direct result of these influences.
