There is something tranquil about being near water, the garden pond is a winning addition to any garden, attractive to wildlife and pondlife. Dragonflies have such an interesting life span. Quite mean looking and ferocious hunters beneath the water's surface for most of their lives, but they eventually emerge from the pond with their precious wings. In their transformation they are quite beautiful to look at. Their sole purpose is to find a mate, reproduce and die. Normal lifespan above water is not more than 4 months, most often it's much less, and the Damselfly usually only lives a few weeks. Apparently, Prehistoric Dragonflies were as big as Crows, Amazing.
