Full description
Our handmade insect bird box is based on a cicada, although this one is much quieter than the real thing! It will be a fabulous place for birds to nest as well as a bright and extremely quirky addition to the garden.
Painted in black with yellow stripes and with blue and pink wings, the bird box the bird box is bright enough to be seen all the way down the garden. It makes an unusual gift for a birthday, Father's Day, thank you, retirement, and many other special occasions. Whether it’s for mum, dad, grandad or a friend, the cicada bird box will be the ideal present for the person who as everything!
It is carefully handmade, by us here at Lindleywood, from high-grade sustainable European redwood pine supplied by a small local woodmerchant. It is then handpainted with water-based wood paints suitable for exterior use. These paints, by Little Greene, a very small independent British manufacturer from the northwest of England (who have been creating paints since 1773), enable us to create beautiful products that are non-toxic to plants and wildlife.
The roof lifts off for easy cleaning, the box comes with full mounting and care instructions (we even include the screws) and it is a usable bird box suitable for birds like great tits and blue tits.
The Cicada bird box measures approximately 44cm (h) x 14cm (w) x 18cm (d).
