Susan Evans creates toys, sculptures, and automata using all kinds of wood. They are mainly intended for adults but it is a bonus if children like them too. She uses acrylic paint, washes, and coloured inks to decorate her work, and carves using air-dried lime and seals her pieces with a matte water-based varnish or wax polish. After training as a teacher of history she was appointed to a job in Grimsby on England’s east coast. There she began her artistic practice by making personal gifts for friends from materials found on the beach: driftwood, recycled wood, and other found objects.

Full description
This stunning round fish wall hanging has been handmade by Susan Evans. Made from a slice of tree with the rings still visible, Susan has added 16 hand-carved and hand-painted blue and red metallic fish all swimming round in a beautiful circular pattern. White paint splatter has been added to give a lovely underwater feel. The wood has a wire hanging, ready to be hung on your wall. This is one of her largest pieces and measures 22cm in diameter and approximately 3cm deep. This is a total one-off and would make a wonderful gift or look perfect in a coastal themed bathroom!
