After attending a day course learning about smoke fired pottery I wanted to take what I had learned and put it into practice. I wanted to make a small ornament which provided a good amount of surface in order to highlight the unique decorations produced by the smoke firing. I also have many birds which visit my garden so I took inspiration from watching them from my studio.
