Full description
This poppy bowl is extra special. Instead of making it from my usual textured, creamy clay, it was hand formed from a piece of pure white porcelain.
Porcelain has a beautiful translucent effect when held up to the light, and you can see this in image three. It has a delicate, elegant quality not found in any other material.
I added a little deep red glaze to the imprints to emphasize the texture, and left the rest unglazed.
There are many uses for this little bowl; use it to keep jewellery safe, as a little candle holder, or you might decide to keep it empty as a piece of sculpture. If you decide to put a little tea light in it, the light will glow through it.
It measures approx 11cm accross x 3cm in height. (4.25 x 1.25 inches)
